Poster for Opioid Abuse Awareness:

Not Just a Label is an animated piece I created, which was selected to be featured in an exhibition entitled Beyond Addiction: Reframing Recovery. This projected animation populates the screen with derogatory labels associated with people who use drugs, contrasted with personal identities. This juxtaposition aims to show that no one should be defined by pejorative labels associated with drugs, while also portraying the negative impact that stigmatizing language may have on the family and friends of people struggling with addiction. By reminding viewers of these identities, this animation aims to foster empathy and compassion instead of isolation and shame.
